A Good Week

Okay so since my last post I'm doing much better! No crying since Saturday! :) On Sunday I forgot to take my prenatal vitamins and then forgot again on Monday and when I realized it Monday night I realized that I hadn't been quite as emotional the last two days. So I didn't take them again on Tuesday morning and all day Tuesday was pretty good! I had switched vitamins a couple of weeks ago and they made me throw up seconds after I had taken them which was strange because I've only thrown up twice this pregnancy so it was due to morning sickness. But the vitamins were supposed to be so good for me so I kept trying to take them different ways but now I'm pretty convinced that those just weren't made for my body. Last night I took my regular ones and I seem fine! MUCH BETTER!! Last week was sooooooo hard for me!

Here are some crazy stories about my kids from last week:

Nathan:
(Grandma Welch, Mom and Dad, you'll get a kick out of this one!)
Friday night we were ready to walk out the door for our church trunk-or-treat and I went into the back bedroom to get Nate and his cousin Zadia and put their coats on. Well, I walked in and found two children playing in "the snow" they had found! Nate found a trial size bottle of baby powder that fell out of a box when I was cleaning earlier and was sprinkling it all over the floor, and on their heads, and EVERYTHING! It made me laugh because I'd heard a story of how my older sister and I had done the same thing only in our velvet Christmas dresses! I couldn't do anything but laugh! I called my mom to tell her the funny story. I was very impressed at how I handled it, I laughed and calmly got the vacuum. Laughing really does help situations not be so horrible!
Saturday I invited my sister-in-law's family over to make sugar cookies cut into pumpkin shapes. I was really excited and Nate was being a very good helper! We were having a really good day so far, no tears yet, and then all of a sudden Crystal and I look at each other and say, do you smell something? It's like Christmas or something....I kept smelling and as soon as I realized what it was I realized Nate was missing! I ran from the kitchen back to his bedroom and sure enough, there he was. He dumped a WHOLE bottle of Thieves essential oil blend on his mattress. You might be saying, "oh it's just a smell, it'll go away in a day or so." NO! This is the purest form of essential oil you can find! It's a blend of cinnamon, cloves, eucalyptus, rosemary, and something else I can't remember at the moment. it is STRONG!!!! I did NOT handle that one very well. It was a brand new $40 bottle! (it's good for getting rid of and avoiding colds and flus and it was working well for us!) I was so mad! I didn't beat him (hooray for me!) or anything but I dragged him to his high chair, buckled him in, and put him in Knowly's room with the door closed staring at the wall. My brother-in-law looked at me in a state of shock and said, "I've never seen you mad before!" I figured Nate had had enough punishment when he tasted it on his hands and then got it kind of in his eye. It is POTENT stuff! Luckily it was nice out so we opened all the windows and let it air out. I cleaned that mattress as best as I could but the smell is still there, no stain anymore, just a smell!! I guess the smell could have been worse, it just smells like Christmas and probably will until next Christmas! Nathan stayed by my side for the rest of the day and he got to help me scrub some walls and scrub his mattress. He points to the bottle now and says, "No drops! Spicy, big trouble!"

One more thing for Nate is he's had this problem picking his nose and he's gotten scabs on it so he picks the scabs and they bleed so for the past week or so he looks like he's been in a fight! It's sad but it's finally looking better!

Knowlton:
I'm pleased to say that Knowly has learned to stand up for himself!! He was playing with the kids the other day and one of them took his toy and he didn't like that so he pushed them down!! I went over and told him "no push" but inside I was laughing and shouting for joy!! It's about time! He gets picked on, sat on, squeezed on, and never gets the toy he chooses without mommy's help so I'm excited he can show what he wants now! But here's to teaching him self control....bah!

He also has been sleeping in a big boy bed!!!!! He does so well in it too!! We took down the crib so he doesn't even have that option anymore. He pretty much sleeps 10-12 hours/night without waking up! It's amazing! We're still working on getting Nate to sleep through the night. Unfortunately the other night Knowly moved too far down on the bed where there was no rail and he fell off the bed. :( I heard him and went and put him back into bed and he did just fine, he went right back to sleep. Daniel got him in the morning and he had a HUGE rug burn around his eye. So now between him and Nate it looks like they got into a pretty good fight! It's sad but kinda funny.

Knowly has also started copying Nate's "happy face". I can't even describe it, it's just cute! I love it.

So that's what's been going on here. I'll post pics later

I've been taking children's multi-vitamins instead of the prenatal vitamins and I haven't been sick or moody at all. My dad looked them over before I started and said they have the exact same stuff as what you would need during pregnancy without the harsh side effects most prenatals have on the stomach :-) --- Glad this week is going better for you

Your such a good mom...Your families beautiful! I'm so glad Daniel found you, where excited about the new little girl to soon join your family. I still take Flintstone chewable vits daily - 2, they don't make me sick, even when I was preggers. Hope this week is great for you all. The boys are so cute, enjoy every little silly thing they do...be sure to write it down...fun stuff when they become teenagers!
