Knowly's home from the hospital

We had a very crazy week this week. We woke up Monday morning with two sick boys and a sick daddy. It was some head cold that was going around and somehow I managed not to get it! But for the first couple of days the boys were just tired and stuffed up but then Knowly started wheezing again and just looked sickly. The week before we started trying to ween him off of his nebulizer breathing treatments and he was doing great but with him catching this bug we upped it back up. We were doing everything we knew how to do, Vicks, humidifier, saline in the nose, and sleep, but it just wasn't working. Thursday morning he sounded horrible and he woke me up at 4:30am by barfing all over me! It was totally different that spit up because it shot out about 3 feet. He did that 4 times and I called the doctor. I was worried about him getting dehydrated. The doctor was able to squeeze us in within a couple hours and she told us he wasn't horrible but it would be safest to put him in the hospital. They were able to monitor his breathing and make sure he was getting enough oxygen. Luckily he started to eat and keep it down so they didn't have to start an IV. They sucked all the mucus out through his nose and that helped a TON! He started breathing better but they had to keep doing it. His oxygen levels kept dropping while he was sleeping so they had to keep giving him oxygen and as long as they did that he couldn't go home. He had to be off oxygen for 24 hours before they'd let us out. Saturday morning he looked horrible! I was nervous and was sure we'd be in the hospital until Wednesday. By Saturday night he was much better! He was happy and his lungs sounded better. He stayed off the oxygen all night and the doctor came in this morning and said we could go home! He looked much better. We will continue the treatments at home until the wheezing goes away and keep him home and away from sick people! Sorry folks, love you! hate your germs.
So anyways 4 days and 3 nights in the hospital was soooooo boring and we're both glad to be home!!! Daniel did a great job talking care of Nate at home . It was a great bonding time for them so I'm grateful for that.

Side Note:

Friday I snuck away from the hospital and went to my eye doctors appointment. Last time I was there they said that my vision in my left eye proabably wouldn't change from where it was then (20/60 with glasses on). This time they checked my vision and it was the coolest thing! I kept reading the lines and they kept getting smaller and smaller! I was able to read the 20/25 line great and most of the 20/20 line with my glasses!!!!!!!!! I was soooooo excited! I haven't seen that since 3rd grade and even then I'm not sure it was that good! I sitll have the oil holding my retina in place in my right eye so it's very blurry out of my right eye and it's still a little awkward seeing with one good eye and one bad eye but next month that will all change!! I'm living a whole new life!! I can drive now!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!! And I can wear makeup again!!!!!! I feel pretty again! Yay! and I love to look at things. As I said when I was 4 and got my first pari of glasses, "I'm so amazed I can see." I'm so amazed at what i didn't know I couldn't see!

Poor Knowly, I'm glad he is doing better and I hope he gets completely better soon, sick kids are no fun. I'm glad you are seeing better, that is so exciting, and you get to wear makeup again, yay!!!!! I would be more excited about that part than being able to see if I was in your situation.

Oh man, hopefully this is the end of the sick boys in your house! That's no fun, but I'm glad he's feeling better!
